1) Post Name : Professor 

No of Posts : 16 [The subject and category wise breakdown is given below]

Salary / Scale of pay :  Level 14-A of the 7 th CPC Pay Matrix. Minimum Pay of Rs.1,68,900/-. (Plus NPA for medically qualified candidates only). (Rs.37,400-67,000+AGP Rs.10,500/- as per 6 th CPC)

Age: Not exceeding 58 years as on the last date of the online application i.e. 30 days from the date of the publication of this advertisement on the institution website.

Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as follows : 

• By 5 years for SC/ST

Educational Qualification:

Essential for Medical Candidates 

 

1. Medical Qualification

A candidate must possess a medical qualification included in Schedule I, II, or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
(Note: Those holding qualifications under Part II of the Third Schedule must additionally satisfy the conditions stipulated in Section 13(3) of the Act.)

2. Postgraduate Qualification

A recognized postgraduate degree, such as MD/MS or an equivalent qualification in the respective discipline or subject, is required.

AND/OR

3. Super Specialization

For surgical super-specialties, an M.Ch. degree (2-year, 3-year, or 5-year recognized course) is mandatory. For medical super-specialties, a D.M. degree (similarly structured) or an equivalent recognized qualification is essential.

Experience Requirements

For MD/MS (or equivalent) holders:
Fourteen years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution within the relevant specialty, accrued after obtaining the qualifying degree.

For M.Ch./D.M. (2-year or 5-year post-MBBS course) holders:
Twelve years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution within the relevant specialty, following the acquisition of the degree.

For M.Ch./D.M. (3-year course) holders:
Eleven years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution within the relevant specialty, subsequent to obtaining the degree.

Essential Criteria for Non-Medical Candidates

1. Educational Qualifications

A postgraduate degree (e.g., Master’s) in the discipline or an allied subject is required, along with a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from a recognized university in the concerned discipline.

2. Experience

Fourteen years of teaching and/or research experience in the relevant discipline, accumulated after earning the Doctorate degree.

Experience

·         Eight years of teaching/research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2-year or 5-year post-MBBS course) or equivalent.

·         Seven years of teaching/research experience for candidates with a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. degree or equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria for Non-Medical Candidates

Qualifications

The essential qualifications (Points 1 & 2) mirror those required for Professor (Non-Medical).

Experience

Ten years of teaching and/or research experience in the relevant discipline, accrued after earning the Doctorate degree (Ph.D.).

4) Post Name : Assistant Professor

Salary / Scale of pay :  Level 12 of the Pay 7 th CPC Matrix  Minimum Pay of Rs.1,01,500/- (Plus NPA for medically qualified candidates only) with provision to move to Level 13 of the Pay Matrix after three years. (Rs.15,600-39,100+AGP 8,000/- as per 6 th CPC).

·         No experience required for candidates holding a 3-year DM/MCh degree or equivalent qualification

For Non-Medical Candidates

Qualifications:
Requirements 1 & 2 mirror those specified for Professor (Non-Medical).

Experience:
Three years of teaching and/or research experience in the relevant discipline following award of the Doctorate degree (PhD).

* Educational Qualifications for non-medical candidates (as applicable):

1. Master’s degree in the concerned specialty as under: -

 i. Anatomy: -M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy)

ii. Pharmacology: - M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology / Pharmacology)

iii. Microbiology: -M.Sc. (Medical Microbiology)

2. A doctorate degree from a recognized university.

Interested and eligible candidates may submit their application through an ONLINE mode followed by submission of a hard copy of the online application & self attested copies of supporting documents. The online registration of application will be made available on AIIMS, Guwahati official website i.e. https://aiimsguwahati.ac.in

Candidates who apply online will have to send the signed copy of online application and self-attested copies of certificates/documents in support of fulfilling the essential criteria of age, educational qualification, teaching/research experiences etc. besides others in support of their candidature within 15 days from the cut-off date for online application. 

The hard copy of application shall be enclosed with self-attested copies of Matriculation Certificate, MBBS Degree Certificate/Mark-Sheets, MD/MS/DM/MCh or equivalent certificates/Mark sheets, Teaching/Research Experiences Certificates, Check list (Annexure-VI) etc. The Experience Certificate should clearly show the period of experience, duration of experience (“from” to “to”), Nature of experience (either teaching or research) etc. The candidates can only mention those teaching experiences which are recognized by NMC/Govt. of India.

The documents should be sent through Speed Post/Courier etc. within the stipulated period. For filling up of Online application, candidates must have the following pre-requisites ready: -
