Eligibility Criteria : Applicant must fulfill the following qualification and criteria.

Qualification & other requirement criteria

A person shall not be qualified for appointment as member unless he/she: - 

(a) is of not less than 35 years of age; 

(b) Possesses a bachelor's degree from a recognized University; and 

(c) is a person of ability, integrity and standing, and having special knowledge and professional experience of not less than fifteen years in consumer affairs, law, public affairs, administration, economics, commerce, industry, finance, management, engineering, technology, public health or medicine.

Term of Office: 

The Member of the District Commission shall hold office for a term of four years or up to the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier and shall be eligible for re-appointment for another term of four years subject to the age limit of sixty-five years. 

Honorarium / Salary : The Member of the District Commission shall be paid an honorarium of Rs. 10000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only per month.
