Directorate of Archeology Govt. of Assam Job Vacancy 2025 (Nov) - Full Details
1) Post Name : Guide Lecturer
No of Posts : 01 [UR]
Salary : Rs 14000/- to Rs 60500/-, Grade Pay Rs 7600/- Pay Band 2- PM Plus other allowances as per rules of the Govt. of Assam.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must fulfill the following qualification and criteria.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’ degree with History/Sanskrit/ Archaeology/ Anthropology as subject from a recognized University by the Government. Candidate having experience in Archaeological field work exploration, excavation and documentation will be given preferences.
2) Post Name : Draftsman
No of Posts : 01 [UR]
Salary : Rs 14000/- to Rs 60500/-, Grade Pay Rs 6800/- Pay Band 2- PM Plus other allowances as per rules of the Govt. of Assam.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must fulfill the following qualification and criteria.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have pass H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination with 1 (one) year draftsmanship certificate/Diploma from Govt. recognized institution.
3) Post Name : Field Surveyor

Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must fulfill the following qualification and criteria.

Candidates must have Passed H.S. (Science) or equivalent examination with Chemistry as one of the subject from a Govt. recognized institute.
6) Post Name : Horticulture Assistant

Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must fulfill the following qualification and criteria.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have Passed H.S. (Science) with Botany as one of the subject from a Govt. recognized institute.
Other Eligibility Criteria of Directorate of Archaeology Assam Recruitment 2025
The candidate must satisfy the following criteria.
a) Nationality:
i) Candidates must be a permanent resident of Assam. As a domicile proof of the candidate, one of the documents viz., PRC/ Voter ID card need to be enclosed along with the application.
ii) He/ She must have registered his/her name in any Employment Exchange of Assam and should have a valid Employment Exchange card.
b) Age:
Candidate should not be more than 40 years and less than 18 years of age as on 1st January, 2025 (Candidate must be born on or before 01.01.2007 and on or after 01.01.1985). For the purpose of determining the age limit, the Directorate will accept only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate/Admit card issued by a recognized Education Board or the birth certificate issued by Competent Authority will be accepted.

Interested and eligible candidates should submit their application in the Assam Standard Form as prescribed in part-IX of the Assam Gazette only. No other application format will be entertained.
Required Testimonials to be attached with the application and to be self attested: Applicants should submit their applications along with photocopies of all testimonials duly self attested regarding –
A) Qualifications,
B) Age proof (HSLC Pass Certificate or HSLC Admit Card).
C) Caste certificate (in caste of reserved category),
D) Employment exchange registration card,
E) Declaration in Form “A” under rule 5 (1) of the Assam Public Services (application of small family norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019.
Two copies of recent passport size photograph of the candidate duly self attested is to be submitted. One self addressed envelope of 10'X4.5' affixing postal stamp of Rs. 5/- must be enclosed with the application. No application fees need to be submitted.
The application should reach Office of the Director, Directorate of Archaeology, Assam Ambari, Guwahati-01 on or before 5.00 pm of 30.12.2025
The name of the post applied for should be clearly written in “bold letters” in the Envelope containing the application form and it should be addressed to the Director, Directorate of Archaeology, Assam, Ambari, Guwahati-01.
